New for the 2025-26 Season

  • Starting the 2025-26 Indoor Season, Zone Boundaries are in effect for U7 - U15 age divisions. For more information on the updates to Zone Boundaries please read the Memo from SYSI released in January. Lakewood's Zone includes the following Community Associations:
Blackstrap Eastview Lakeridge Nutana SC
Brevoort Park Grosvenor Park Lakeview Rosewood
Briarwood Greystone Heights Lakewood SC SE Development Area
Clavet Holliston Nutana Park (South) Wildwood
  • Divisions for the Alliance U11-U19 age groups have been adjusted from Alliance A, Alliance B1 and Alliance B2 to Premier, Division 2 and Division 3.
  • Lakewood is making the shift from Puma to Adidas, and all players will be receiving a new uniform as part of their registration. See uniform details below.

DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE (U7 - U9)

Development League is offered as an alternative to Community programming for players in the U7 and U9 age groups. There are no tiered teams or formal evaluations—team placement is based on creating competitive balance.

Players typically train twice per week: one session is led by Lakewood’s Technical Staff Coaches, and the other is run in a team setting by Lakewood Volunteer Coaches. The focus is on fun, developing physical literacy, and supporting teammate requests wherever possible.

Team Fees

Players on U9 Development teams and U11-U19 Alliance League teams may be responsible for paying additional team fees, which are not included in registration costs. These fees help cover a range of team-related expenses, such as:

  • Tournament entry and travel costs

  • Team bonding activities

  • Team apparel (e.g., bunnyhugs, jackets)

  • End-of-season coach gifts

Team fundraising may help offset these costs.

Team fees are determined and managed at the team level by the coach and/or team manager. If a family is unable to cover their portion of the team fees, they are encouraged to speak with their team manager about setting up a payment plan. Families may also apply for financial support through Lakewood’s Ways & Means funding assistance program if eligible.

Evaluations

Lakewood evaluations will be hosted at Sidney L Buckwold fields for all Alliance League players. U7 and U9 Development League players will be invited out to pre-season placement sessions in early September, along with U11 City Recreational League players.

Full evaluation schedule will be posted by the end of July with sessions to be held during the last week of August and first week in September.

Lakewood Volunteer Bond

Lakewood Soccer is powered by volunteers—from coaching and committees to organizing our tournament. It’s what makes us not just a club, but a soccer community and family.

To help support a great soccer experience for every player, we require a $100 volunteer bond per player, submitted before evaluations. If your volunteer commitment is completed, the bond will be refunded at the end of the season.

This bond will be added to your registration automatically.

How to Fulfill Your Volunteer Hours:

  • Most families volunteer during our Lakewood Tournament (January 30 - February 1).

  • We ask each family to volunteer about 2 hours per child registered.

  • These tournaments are vital fundraisers that help us keep our club running smoothly.

Other small volunteer opportunities may come up during the season, but the tournament is the best chance to complete your hours.

Coaches and Managers are exempt from the volunteer bond and hours due to their significant time commitment. Once you’ve been confirmed in either role, you may request a promo code to waive the bond by emailing registration@lakewoodsoccer.com.
